The village of Agios Lavrentios, located at an altitude of 600 meters, is a very charming and traditional village that is located just 22km from the city of Volos. The village takes it's name after the monastery Saint Lavrentios, which is located outside the village, and was founded in 1378.

It is here in the Agios Lavrentios that you will find the Zarifi Mansion, which was built in 1716. From here, we are delighted to welcome you to Pelion, and offer a wonderful selection of traditional, unique and comfortable accommodation at our mansion.

Although the passage of time has left it's mark, it has also created a magical and historical legacy, providing a link between the history of the mansion, and the people who once resided here.

The current owners of the mansion, Vaios and Maria, have put in immense effort, hard work and time in restoring the mansion to it's original beauty and form. Keeping all of the traditional Pelion elements, both inside and out, the mansion is one that showcases the beauty of Pelion architecture, and a fascinating insight into years gone by.

Today the mansion is known as the "Mansion 1716", and operates as a charming guesthouse, providing stunning views over the village and out towards the blue waters of the Pagasitic Gulf.

At the mansion, you will find a wonderful selection of accommodation, comprising of two spacious rooms, one two-room apartment and two three-room suites. All of the rooms have been beautiful furnished and decorated, creating a very unique setting for your Pelion experience. The rooms and suites have wonderful views of either the mountains or the sea.

All of the rooms are equipped with hydro massage, telephone, tv and hair dryer. The suites also have home cinema, mini bar and internet access. We are confident that you will find all of our accommodation extremely comfortable and rewarding.

In the basement of the mansion, guests can enjoy a relaxing drink next to the Turkish fireplace. In the dining room, which has a magnificent stone-built fireplace, our guests can enjoy breakfast, a selection of home made sweets, or a drink of tsipouro. We can also arrange for lunch for our guests if they require.
