HOLIDAY COTTAGE “THE OLIVE STORE” - Platanias, Pelion, Greece

The unique region of the Pelion peninsula in Central Greece is a part of the country that is unlike any other. It is the most perfect combination of sea, mountains and nature, and is ideal for holidays throughout the year.

All across this majestic peninsula are villages, resorts and hamlets of all sizes, each offering their own unique charm and beauty.

One of the prettiest of these villages is the popular coastal resort of Platanias. Situated 60km from the city of Volos, is a very picturesque fishing village, with colourful boats and inspiring scenery.

At the head of a beautiful valley is the tiny hamlet of Randi. It is here where you will find our lovingly restored farm cottage 'Elio Apothiki'. This cottage was formerly a simple home, with olive store and animal shelter. Now it is a peaceful countryside holiday paradise with extensive rural and sea views. Only 5 minutes by car from the seaside village of Platanias, with its harbour side tavernas and sandy beaches.

The "Olive Store" cottage is offered for private short term rental ( a minimum period of 3 days ) by it's English owners. Individual rooms for let or hotel services are not offered.

You can relax and explore amongst 3 acres of beautiful gardens with olive grove, fruit orchard, woodlands and the ‘aloni’ an old fashioned stone threshing floor. We have a fresh water spring (supplying our drinking water) streams, pools and a waterfall with abundant wildlife.

There are extensive old stone footpaths and earth roads nearby for wonderful walks with amazing views. We are on the local bus route, but car hire is also recommended.

The cottage has two large double bedrooms, ( 2 doubles and 1 single bed ), kitchen, bathroom and large living room with built-in bed settees for a further 2 persons if required. It is simply furnished and well equipped. It has a wood burning stove for cosy winter nights and is suitable for year round holiday use. This is the place from which to explore Pelion in all the seasons.

Our home is only 70 metres away but you will enjoy perfect seclusion in your cottage. We shall be happy to help and advise you plan your perfect ‘away from it all’ holiday.
