The
picturesque traditional village of Lafkos is one of the most famous
in all of Pelion, as well as one of the most important. It is
situated in the southern part of the Pelion peninsula, as is one
that is a delight to visit.
Lafkos is situated at an altitude of 330 meters, and provides
some stunning views of the Pagasitic Gulf, as well as the coastal
resort of Milina and the nearby island of Atalas.
Lafkos is also home to the wonderful "Sipiada Restaurant"
which is one based in the village that is very popular with locals
and also visitors from other regions of Pelion.
In our comfortable traditional
building that is over 100 years old, we invite you to join us
for a fantastic selection of traditional cuisine, including some
unique tastes of Pelion. Whether you would like just a drink or
light snack, or a full meal, we will be delighted to welcome you
to our restaurant, where you will find a very friendly and warm
atmosphere.
We have been operating out restaurant here in Lafkos for over
20 years, and during that time have made many new friends with
customers from both local regions, as well as many countries from
abroad.
All of our meals are cooked by local women, who have maintained
the traditional way of preparing and cooking meals. We use only
the freshest and highest quality of ingredients, and all produce
is local and biological. We also have on selection a lovely choice
of local wines and tsipouro to compliment your meals.
One of our specialities is a casserole that is made with meat
from the local livestock of the village. There are also many more
dishes to choose from, such as mezes, salad, as well as meat,
vegetable and other dishes, all freshly prepared in traditional
ways, offering you a truly unique experience of the cuisine of
Pelion.
During the summer months, you can take a seat outside under the
shade of the plane trees, and enjoy your meals admiring the lovely
scenery. In the winter time, take a seat inside and warm up next
to our fireplace. We are open throughout the year, so your taste
buds are in for a real treat, no matter what time of the year
you plan to visit Pelion.
