ARHONTIKO SISILIANOU - Makrinitsa, Pelion, Greece

The village of Makrinitsa is one of the most famous and inspiring villages in all of the Pelion peninsula. It is often reffered to as the "balcony of Pelion" due to the stunning panoramic views it offers stretching out to the city of Volos and the waters of the Pagasitic Gulf.

Makrinitsa is built on a slope, and different parts of the village are at different altitudes that range from 350 to 700 meters. It is the goegraphical position of Makrinitsa that makes it so unique and charming.

The village is located just 16km from the city of Volos, and 3km from the neighbouring village of Portaria. It is a very traditional village and one where visitors can experience the natural beauty and magic of Pelion.

It is here in Makrinitsa that you will find the lovely "Arhontiko Sisilianou" where we offer you a beautiful selection of comfortable and quality accommodation for your holidays and travels in the unique region of the Pelion peninsula.

We are located right in the main square of Makrinitsa, and are in a very peaceful and quiet part of the village.

The building of "Arhontiko Sisilianou" was actually built in 1700, but was recently fully renovated and refurbished in January 2008.

All of the rooms all have TV ( Satellite / Nova ), telephone and central heating. The rooms have a selection of beauty cosmetics in the bathroom as well as a hair dryer. There are also complimentary slippers for our guests.

There is also room service available if requested by any of our guests. We have a range of rooms available, including 2 rooms with two double beds, making it ideal for those who may be travelling as two couples, or with younger children.

The walls of the building are very thick, and because of this, the inside is very cool during the summer months, making it unnecessary for air condition. During the winter months, the building is very warm and cosy.

As well as operating as a hotel and place of accommodation, we also operate a cafe bar, where you can come to join us fo a refreshing drink after a days exploration of Pelion and the magical places you will find all around.
