MAKRIRAHI - PELION ( PILIO ) - GREECE
This is a village on the north east of Pelion at an altitude of 350m and is 46km from Volos. Makrirahi is famous for the flowers that grow there, such as gardenias, camellias and magnolias.
On August 25th the local "Flower Association" of the women from Makrirahi organise a huge flower exhibition in the village square. Here can take a walkabout and enjoy the beautiful colourful flowers that are on display.
You can visit the church of Agios Ioannis Prothromos, Proifiti Hilia, Agioi Arargiroi and Agios Konstantinos. For swimming, you must go to the magnificent sandy beach of Agioi Saranta, which is one of the most beautiful in Pelion, or the beaches of Agios Ioannis and Papa Nero.
