Xourihti is a traditional mountainous village 47km from Volos and 5km from Tsagarada, at an altitude of 500m. It is a picturesque village, surrounded by a forest of chestnut and hazelnut trees. It is accessible by beautiful cobble-stoned paths.

The name of the village takes it's name from a copper mine, that still exists near the village, and was in operation in the older days.

You can visit the church of Kimiseos tis Theotokou on the main road of the village (just before the petrol station), which dates from 1450. It has some very beautiful golden sculptured and painted icons.

On August 15th a big festival takes place at the square with music and dance, and goes on until the early hours of the next morning. Every September, there is the Cheastnut Festival, which is organised, where visitors can join in the celebrations, and try a variety of cheastnut dishes and sweets.

Recently, a copper mine has been discovered, which dates from 2500 years ago.

You can talk a beautiful walk through the forest with its beautiful green scenery and spring waters. If you keep walking it will take you through to the beautiful beach of Limninas. Here you can enjoy a long cool swim.

This path splits into two, with one end finishing at the village of Milies, and the other in the village of Tsagarada. For a night out, if you head to Tsagarada, you'll find restaurants, tavernas and bars.
