AFISSOS - PELION ( PILIO ) - GREECE
This is a summer resort, 25km from Volos, by the sea. According to legend, Afissos was where Jason and the Argonauts stopped for water, before continuing their journey to Colhida.
Afissos is built in the form of an amphitheatre with large olive groves. It is also a well organised village for tourist facilities. In the resort, you can find restaurants, tavernas, fish tavernas, coffee places and bars.
Before the entrance to the resort is the beautiful large and sandy beach Kallifteri. Afissos is the perfect destination in Pelion for relaxing holidays during the summer months, and makes an ideal base from which visitors can easily explore other parts of the Pelion Peninsula.
