Agios Vlasios is a traditional village on the mountain at an altitude of 300m and is 16km from Volos. By following the picturesque path from Ano Lehonia, you will be taken through a ravine surrounded by plain trees.
During the middle of the journey, the beautiful village of Palio Castro will meet you. Here you can try fresh trout caught from the local breeding lake.
In the village you will find the church of Agios Vlasios (Saint Vlasios), which contains beautiful and impressive icons.
The skilled architect Dimos Zapaniotis, who was from Hipiros, built the church in the 1820s. On the 24th July is the festival for Dimos Zapaniotis, and at the square you can enjoy a traditional festival with dancing and music.
