METOHI - PELION ( PILIO ) - GREECE
Metohi is a mountainous village 42km from Volos and 3km from Argalasti, on the way to Lafkos. On the main road, take a small stop and drink some water from the spring water fountain. You will also see the old steamroller that is dated from 1830.
In the cobble-stoned square of the village, you can enjoy your coffee or tsipouro with small titbits whilst sitting under the shade of the plain trees. Here you can marvel at the beautiful view of the gulf of Milina with the small island of Alatas.
Also situated in the square is the church of Zoothohou Pigis (Life Giving Stream), with old icons dating from 1830. If you take the path, which is a little out of the village, surrounded by some beautiful green scenery and the old water powered olive press and many water springs, you will end up in the small picturesque village of Horto, which has a small port.
If you continue the walk, you will end up in Milina. For a very lively nightlife, just head to Milina and you will find a selection of bars, restaurants and fish tavernas.
