Situated at an altitude of 560m, Pinakates is a traditional picturesque mountain village 26km from Volos. There are many paths that take you on beautiful walks through the old houses and mansions, which provide a perfect backdrop.
The village square is very beautiful and is covered with big plain trees as well as an impressive spring water fountain, which has a sculptured statue of 4 lion heads. The water from this fountain is refreshing especially on hot summer days.
Pinakates is a very traditional and inspiring village, and one where visitors can easily spend hours wandering around following the cobblestone paths, and soaking up the unique landscapes.
There are several old traditional mansions in the village which are both inspiring and a delight to see, as one can grasp the true size and power of these past reminders of the days of old.
