Anakasia Pelion

In Anakasia, which is 6km from Volos and at an altitude of 140m, you can see cobble stoned paths, old mansions and spring water taps. It is a very beautiful place to walk around and to explore.

You can visit the mansion of G.Kontos and look at the beautiful and unique frescos, all done by the artist Theophilos from Mytilini.

A little further out of the village and close to the main road, you can see the Byzantine church "Monument of Kimiseos of Theotkou", which is on the hill of Episkopi. Here you can look at the frescos that are dated from the 18th century.

Anakasia is a charming village to visit if you find the opportunity. It is very traditional and provides a unique insight into the past beauty of the Pelion villages.
