The Villages Outside of Pelion

There are also a number of interesting villages found outside of the main region of the Pelion peninsula. Most of these are found south of Volos, and many visitors will pass by them if travelling to Pelion from the south areas of Greece such as Athens or the Peloponnese.

The town of Nea Anhialos is a popular holiday destination and has some lovely beaches and is also home to the archaeological site of Fthiotides Thebes.

Other towns such as Amaliapolis, Nies and Pigadi are all interesting places to visit if you have the chance. There are also other archaeological sites in the outer Pelion region including Dimini and Sesklo.
